The replacement of sound tubes is considered a maintenance item. Eventually, moisture from your ears will clog the very fine screen in the acoustic dampers that are used to tune frequency response. This manifests as diminishing total volume, maybe you find yourself having to turn the radios up very high, and eventually can lead to complete sound blockage. You might notice small droplets of moisture collecting on the inside surface as well. A fresh set of sound tubes is the solution.
